About

The Kansas Heritage Center is a historical research library and archive located on the lower level of the Dodge City Public Library. Our collections focus primarily on the history of Dodge City and Ford County, though we also have materials relating more generally to the history of the state of Kansas and to the American West.

Our finding aids - essentially a digital catalog of our archival collections - are available by clicking here.

We also have a large digital newspaper archive of Dodge City newspapers, with papers dating from 1874-2011. While this full version of our newspaper database is only available at the Kansas Heritage Center, there is also a version of the database available to search at home featuring all the digitized newspapers from 1874-1927. That archive is accessible by clicking here.

The items contained on the digital archive are just a fraction of the materials available at the Kansas Heritage Center. For more information about our holdings, or if you would like to donate materials to the archive, please contact us at kansasheritage@dcpl.info or visit the Kansas Heritage Center at the Dodge City Public Library.
